Science Resources

With all that is going on in the country, we feel even more pressure to school our children. There is so very much they really, really need to know in order to understand the world around them. I am beginning to understand why modern schooling does not rely more on first person narratives since the sheer volume of material you must read is immense. Don’t get me wrong – reading is wonderful. We read together and aloud pretty much every day and all day. I just feel the pressure of time to pump as much as I can into my kiddos.

We recently finished Benjamin Franklin’s Autobiography and have started Charles Augustus Goodrich’s Lives of the Signers to the Declaration of Independence. My kids love these books… they cannot wait for us to begin reading the writings and papers of George Washington. They ask for me to read from these every day. Our life is mostly reading and discussions. So, science is mostly bookwork these days.

But I have collected so many, many wonderful science activities…

Since my kids may never get to all those activities, I will share them with you:
