Everywhere in the news these days is the call for fairness. Fair and equal treatment, not based upon merit but simply by virtue of existence. And fair and equal wages. The promises of income equality come from above.
These are ideas that harken to the times of monarchs. Not in our country, but the oppressive and freedom-killing country our founder’s fled. Tudor England may well have begun the concept of income inequality, but regardless of whether it originated there, the concept was definitely of great concern during those times.
In Tudor times the strident cries for equality and fairness of treatment and wages rose from subjects, whose rights were granted by a monarch, and not recognized as a natural right. This is remarkably similar to the hue of children calling out to their parents to fix the inequalities of siblinghood. In those days in England it was generally acknowledged that you prospered under the good graces of your monarch and not as a result of your own invention or drive.
When a person given power to lead by you decides to concern himself with equalities amongst you and your fellows, he appoints himself to the position of monarch and you may gain a temporary equality, but will quickly lose the last vestiges of your freedom.
As we stand today clinging to the last remaining pieces of our God-given rights, the question remains is will you even notice when the last is taken and we fall into the monarchy from which our ancestors fought to protect for their families and future generations?
