Learning American Liberty

I try to teach my kids about what it means to be an American and how precious the blessings of liberty really are but sometimes it is good to find some wholesome enrichment to help drive the point home.

They learn about liberty by reading history texts and stories and discussing the ideas with the Hub and I. Sometimes they learn by breaking out toy figures and acting out a historical concept on the living room floor, or in the sandbox. And sometimes I find a cartoon or documentary for them to watch as yet one more method for driving history into their consciousness.

There is a series called Liberty Kids that my kids really liked when they were younger. It is usually available on Netflix, or Amazon, or at your local library, and it is also available on YouTube.

Overall, the series is pretty good but still bears watching with your kids so that you can discuss any issues that may come up.
