The End Of Middle School – How Did That Sneak Up On Me?

The End Of Middle School – How Did That Sneak Up On Me?

theendofmiddleschoolThis week is my kids’ last week of middle school… Where did the last 3 years go? I thought I was fully focused in the moment. I felt that each day was full of adventure and learning and fun. It certainly felt like each day was slow. I really was sure that I had that “where did the time go” monster licked. But here we are.

My kids are starting high school on Monday. I have prepared and planned and prepared some more. I have a fantastic lineup of new material for them. We are focusing in on enhancing what they really love to study and do. Everyone is excited.

My son is using the Everyday Cookbook (review coming soon) to cook a special meal on Sunday so we can celebrate. My daughter is in charge of dessert. I am supplying the diplomas and my husband is working on the principal’s speech. Homeschooling really has become a group affair in our house. My kids are no longer passive participants in their education. They seek out subjects that interest them and know how to lay out a path through the learning process. I guess this means they really are ready for high school. At least for our little homeschooled high school.

So here is a brief look at our lineup for 9th grade:

I linked this post up on The Homeschool Highlights LinkUp hosted by Homeschool Coffee Break. Hop on over and read about the week that some of the other amazing homeschooling moms and their kids had!

Are all of you getting ready for next year’s schooling yet? Is it easy or did you find some snags along the way?
